The image of Jesus on the cross is not easy to look upon. It is a reminder of the
sacrifice that God paid for our sin. He lived up to his end of the bargain by dieing.
Love itself can best be defined as giving our very lives. However, God is not asking
for our own death or even our sacrifice but that we obey and serve him with our lives.
Laying down your life can be more practical. For example, putting aside your own
ambitions to serve your family or spouse. To me the image of Jesus on the cross
is the true definition of love. He died for us so that we would live for him. |
